Michelle Williams is in final negotiations to play Leonardo DiCaprio's wife in Martin Scorsese's mystery drama "Shutter Island" for Paramount.
The actress also will join Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley in the film, adapted by Laeta Kalogridis from Dennis Lehane's 2004 novel.
"Shutter" centers on two U.S. marshals (DiCaprio and Ruffalo) who travel to a Massachusetts island to investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane. Havoc ensues as the two encounter a web of deceit, a hurricane and a deadly inmate riot that leaves them trapped on the island.

Universal pictures announced today that the movie adaptation of Mark Millar / JG Jones graphic novel WANTED is getting a summer release date of June 27th rather than the original spring release of May 28th.
Universal Pictures has moved the release date of its hotly anticipated fantasy-action-thriller Wanted from spring to summer. The film will now be released on Friday, June 27, rather than its former release date of March 28.
In making the date-change announcement, Nikki Rocco, Universal Pictures' President of Distribution, stated, "After an early look at Wanted, we are certain that it fulfills its promise as a stunning, committed, thrilling, eye-popping vision that introduces a bold new narrative. We believe it can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the event titles of the summer and will give audiences a chance to discover a fresh new alternative. We are excited to date the film on June 27."
Edward Norton has decided to double up on work for his upcoming comedic thriller LEAVES OF GLASS.
Norton will play identical twins, one an Ivy League classics professorand the other a hedonistic pot-smoking career criminal. He'll make the film after completing the Universal drama "State of Play."
"Leaves of Grass" will be financed by Barbarian Films, which recently co-produced "Powder Blue." Bill Migliore, Norton and Nelson will produce. Norton and Migliore partner in Class 5 Films, which most recently produced "The Painted Veil" and "Down in the Valley."
