Wizard Entertainment is reporting on a special screening of the 6-7 minutes of footage for THE DARK KNIGHT that will be showing with the upcoming I AM LEGEND. Here is a small portion of the synopsis from the screening event.
The surviving clown begins to board the bus with bags of money when the bank manager, lying on the floor bleeding, tells the clown he has no idea who he’s messing with and asks why the crooks in this city have no beliefs anymore. The lone clown aborts boarding the bus and instead turns to the manager. The manager asks him dead to his face, “What do you believe in?”
As the clown slowly places a concussion grenade in the manager’s mouth, he removes his mask, exposing his scar-ridden face. It’s the Joker! “I believe that whatever doesn’t kill you simply makes you stronger,” he says before smiling a huge, twisted grin.
Judd Apatow is having a mind-blowing run of hits, and this upcoming film which he produced looks no different. The action-comedy, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, finds a couple of guys who only know how to have fun using... questionable means of boosting themselves up. Their lives go from dandy to dangerous however when Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) witnesses a drug-related homicide. With help from his stoner buddy Saul (James Franco), the two go on the run from a pack of criminals who want them to shut up, permanently.
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS is expected to run into theaters August 8, 2008.
These photos from the upcoming sequel to the popular stoner flick HAROLD & KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE feature the duo in an international crisis, with what seems to be another cameo by Neil Patrick Harris. Whether this series of films turns into another "Ernest Goes To..." franchise remains to be seen.
In a message sent to Ain't It Cool News, James Cameron mentions the supposed leaked concept art for his upcoming epic, AVATAR. It seems that someone has some explaining to do.
You recently posted some artwork of a supposed Na'vi character. Don't know where you got it but it's spurious. I've never seen that piece of art. We had a lot of free-ranging conceptual stuff in the early days of design two and a half years ago, and it might be something that was done then but not shown to me, but it is definitely not remotely our actual character design. Aside from two legs, two arms and a tail, it doesn't have any features in common with our final designs. If I had to guess I'd say it's a piece of fan art based on the description of the Na'vi from the old treatment which was leaked twelve years ago. That description is obsolete relative to the shooting script, since things have changed a lot over the years.
So it is confirmed that the alien race featured in Cameron's sci-fi adventure does have two legs, two arms, and a tail. Anything else is up for speculation. AVATAR is scheduled for release on May 22, 2009.
It seems that Ridley Scott is a confident man after the major success of American Gangster. After tackling the drug trade of the 1970's, he wants to go after something a bit more daring- the fashion industry?
That's right, his upcoming project tells the story of the dramatic incidents within the Gucci family and it's dynasty of fashion. CHUD picked up the story from Variety which provides an in-depth synopsis of the story.
The catalyst will be Maurizio Gucci, the grandson of founder Guccio Gucci who emerged as the unlikely winner of a bloody power struggle to run the family business. Just when Maurizio was on the verge of his greatest success -- a daring fashion show debuting the clothes of newcomer Tom Ford -- his penchant for accumulating enemies caught up with him; Maurizio was gunned down in front of his Milan apartment in 1995.
So it's pretty much THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA meets THE GODFATHER. Sounds like it could be either fantastic or a complete fashion no-no. This project is planned to begin once the writer's strike has ended.
ShockTilYouDrop is reporting that Francis Lawrence, who directed the first CONSTANTINE, wouldn't mind heading up the next incarnation of the successful film, whether it be a sequel or prequel.
I like origin stories, that would be cool. What worked for me is the film came from the 'Dangerous Habits' storyline - he had cancer and he was dying. To me that was the core of the story. It's why the movie works for me, because the story couldn't be more personal. People have thrown concepts around [for a sequel] and I go 'Why does he give a f**k?' In the first film he's trying to save his own skin. Everything else, you can come up with these stories where he goes to different lands and fight the bad guys or witch doctors, but I think it all falls flat. Until someone comes up with a great idea, whether it's earlier [in his life] or later, we'll just have to see.
The first film, which starred Keanu Reeves as the cynical John Constantine, was based off the popular DC/Vertigo comic book Hellblazer, and made $230.8 million worldwide.
Now if you want to go into this movie complete blind as to what is going on, turn back now. The truth may or may not be within these details, but one would hope that they are not entirely true.
Cinematical is reporting that the first act of X-FILES 2 that they received does not include Mulder or Scully at all. Instead, there is a character which serves as a "new Mulder" alongside an older FBI agent, both of whom are investigating one of those wacky cases we are so used to seeing.
Other details on the plot have been revealed, including that "it involves more aliens, a "Frankenstein-type" doctor, body snatchers, missing persons and a hostage situation..."
These plot points bring up very serious questions in regards to how they can actually make an X-FILES movie without it's two iconic stars. Imagine watching the movie and seeing two new agents handle the bizarre crimes that we are so used to seeing Mulder and Scully tackle. We wouldn't have Mulder's witty one-liners or Scully's... everything.
Now it just might be that this is a sub-plot that will be handled while our dynamic duo is handling a major case. Still, when you pay to see the X-FILES 2, you pay to see Agent Mulder and Agent Scully. Need I remind everyone of the mess that was the latter seasons of "The X-Files"?
The upcoming NATIONAL TREASURE 2: BOOK OF SECRETS star told Super Hero Hype! recently that he's all set to work on another GHOST RIDER movie, the studio just has to way the word.
All they have to do is call, and I would love to see that happen. That would be fun,
